This sucks.

I have sciatica. It hurts. Really, really hurts. Especially when I sit. Which kinda sucks for lectures/seminars/PBL/studying.....i.e everything medicine related. And the painkillers don't work. So I'm feeling generally moany and grumpy. Apologies. I needed to share.

Thanks! I've only had it a week, and was diagnosed today, so i'll only try physio if the meds don't work guess. I don't know if there is a whole lot they can do. Didn't seem to be whole lot the doc could do. Anyone got any tips?

Hi Lala!

Just popped by to see how you're getting on across the water, in med school. Judging by your last post about your experience so far in primary care , it seems you're doing mighty fine!

Sorry to hear about your sciatica. It's a real bummer. I wonder would swimming help to ease the pain? If nothing else, it may work as a distraction. Otherwise I think it's a case of "keep popping the pills".

Best of luck, Steph

I can sympathise my brother had it for months, and spent a small fortune on treatments, sleepless nights etc, he is a forklift driver and work was agony,
On the positive side he has been pain free for a year now no reoccurence, It will go,
Take care

OUCH! An uncle had sciatica, I remember he used to be in a lot of pain.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

Feel free to rant away...
